Kenyan shillings to pounds Sterling

One Kenyan shilling (KSh) can be subdivided into 100 cents, although cents are no longer in circulation due to their low value so the lowest single unit of currency you're likely to come across is the KSh 5 coin. There are five denominations of Kenyan shilling banknotes in frequent circulation: KSh 50, KSh 100, KSh 200, KSh 500 and KSh 1000; and four coin denominatisons: KSh 5, KSh 10, KSh 20 and KSh 40.

The current series of Kenyan shilling banknotes in circulation is the '2019 Series' which was introduced by the Central Bank of Kenya in 2019. Each banknote in the series features different animals native to Kenya, such as lions, elephants, rhinoceroses, giraffes, and buffaloes on the obverse side, while the reverse side highlights various aspects of Kenyan culture including traditional dancers, agricultural activities, tourism, and scientific innovation.
